Easter Confessiona and celebrations!

Goog Friday and Saturday were days of mourning and most people went to church to pray. We also saw people dancing "confessions" in Amedzofe which was amazing. We climbed up Mount Gemi which is 600 meters high so it was not a difficult climb at all except it was hot!

Easter Monday was a great big picnic day. We joined one big picnic and were immediately invited to join a group. There was lovely gentle drumming and singing by different groups and then different competetions. Eating bread rolls tied to a string was more difficult than we thought. Everybody took it so seriously!

At around 2.00 p.m. everybody opened up their picnic baskets and there was food galore. We were invited to join in but could not do so because nobody had any vegetarian food! So we ate our popcorn and fruit while the rest feasted.

Your easter looks a bit warmer than ours. The kids loved the snow but unfortunatley it did not settle. I have started work on the lttle room in preperation for Luka to move in there one day and perhaps give us a full nights sleep! ooh look theres a flying pig!!

I did not know you were scared of creepy crawlies, Kiran. Hope they are keeping away from you both.
I love the pictures and comments though it still seems a bit surreal that we can talk so easily!! Hope you have a good week and you find some fun things to do. have you found any vegetarian food in Ho?

Carol, Rita is afraid of creepy crawies not me! Ray I am sure you will get the room sorted but whher Luka sleeps all ight is another story.
We tried banku with okra sup on our thid day here. Tasy but so difficult to eat. Fufu with groundnut soup was delicious. It was specially cooked for us at Paradise Lodge.

We really got into the fufu when we were in ghana, and i remember the beer being quite tasty too. The sun has come out here today, a slight respite until the next band of bad weather hits us at the weekend. Right get back to work now, Ghana needs you!!!
